Already 13 of the 47 home sites available in stage one have sold to buyers looking to maximise their lifestyles in safe and secure surrounds with like minded people.
The homes have sold at an average price of $357,000.
Construction is also forging ahead with 13 of the homes completed and a further 34 homes scheduled to commence construction in coming months at the development at Norman Gardens.
Community infrastructure such as residents’ clubhouse, landscaping and roads has also been completed.
Lifestyle Resorts’ managing director, Bob Morrison, says quality retirement facilities in regional centres such as Rockhampton are in high demand.
“I’m delighted that community infrastructure within the North Rockhampton resort is complete as it marks an important milestone in the evolution of the community and helps to give buyers a true feel for the quality product and lifestyle facilities on offer,” he said.
“The sales success reflects the demand for a superior standard of accommodation and lifestyle options – a combination which is practically non-existent in the over 50s accommodation sector in Rockhampton and surrounding regions.
“Purchasers within the resort will not only have a higher living standard to other retirement communities but they will also be able to free up equity by downsizing from a traditional family home and retaining 100 percent of the capital gain should they decide to sell in the future.
“This revolutionary model replaces the antiquated models, often associated with retirement villages, because of the quality facilities provided and peace of mind for residents knowing their investment is sound and they are in a safe community.”
Mr Morrison says the over 50s sector is growing and with an ageing population capital growth will be maximised in the future.
“At Lifestyle Resorts we have achieved significant capital growth already across all of our resorts which highlights the demand for quality over 50s facilities and the growing popularity of the sector,” he said
“The over 50s market will only continue to grow as Australia’s population ages and demands more quality living options which will in turn sustain capital growth and create optimum investment conditions.”
The Rockhampton North resort will have 140 homes upon its expected completion in 2010.
Lifestyle facilities for residents and guests within the community include a clubhouse complete with gymnasium, cinema and entertaining areas, in addition to a bowling green and resort style swimming pool.
The project is one of six resort communities in the Lifestyle Resorts family stretching from Yamba and Tweed in northern NSW, through Eagleby and Coomera on the Gold Coast, and Bargara and Rockhampton in central Queensland.
Lifestyle Resorts have modeled their resort communities away from the fee gouging, antiquated models that have made retirement living so controversial.
Lifestyle Resorts presents a unique structure with no exit or deferred management fees payable on sale of the property, enabling home owners to retain 100 per cent of capital growth and full control over their future.
