Bargara’s growing reputation as a seachange hotspot has been reaffirmed with more than $2 million in recent sales at Lifestyle Resorts’ over 50s beachside community.
The company has unearthed a demand for affordable retirement living at its $66 million resort with the sale of six homes as buyers look for the relaxed beachfront lifestyle on offer at the seaside village town.
The homes sold at an average price of $318,000.
Lifestyle Resorts’ managing director, Bob Morrison, says recent sales highlight the demand for affordable living options targeted at retirees in the region.
“Bargara is one of the most affordable seachange destinations along the eastern seaboard and this has been reflected in the strong sales run to date,” he said.
“Another driving factor behind this demand is the lack of quality retirement living options in and around Bundaberg.
“A majority of buyers have come from interstate or southeast Queensland and are looking not only to maximise their lifestyles in a quality 5-star resort but also a change in pace. Bargara’s relaxed village atmosphere is a perfect fit for these buyers.”
The high demand for retirement facilities in Bargara has prompted Lifestyle Resorts to open a new sales display in Bauer Street to cater for expected growth in the over 50s market as more and more buyers look for affordable beachside lifestyle alternatives.
Mr Morrison said this coincides with the release of an affordable new home style by the company to cater for expected growth in the sector.
“The Rivergum, which is priced at $250,000, is Lifestyle Resorts’ response to the increased demand for affordable retirement accommodation in today’s current market climate,” he said.
“This lower price point caters to those people from Bargara and surrounding communities who want to sell their home and leave some spare cash in their back pockets.”
The Rivergum comes with various options to meet buyers’ needs such as large open plan living spaces with raked ceiling which flows out onto an outdoor patio area.
Mr Morrison says Lifestyle Resorts’ unique purchasing model and diverse range of facilities gives buyers flexibility in their retirement years.
Lifestyle Resorts Bargara features a range of lifestyle options to cater for all tastes including a fully equipped gym, library with broadband access, billiards area, wet bar, 30 seat cinema, dining facilities and a meeting room for residents to enjoy.
“Lifestyle Resorts unique model, which enables buyers to downsize their home and free up equity, is a huge plus for retirees in Bargara and surrounding regions,” he said.
“For example, if you sold your home for $450,000 and bought a property at Bargara resort for $250,000, you would free up a significant amount of money, while upgrading your lifestyle choices.
“Factors such as living in a secure community, the opportunity for future capital gains, and the flexibility to travel with the knowledge their home will be safe, certainly contribute to the decision making process, which is why Lifestyle Resorts model is proving popular.”
Lifestyle Resorts sales success in Bargara follows a $4.6 million sales run at the company’s recently launched $44 million Rockhampton resort – highlighting the demand for quality over 50s living options in the broader central Queensland region.
Other quality facilities at the resort include a floodlit bowling green and tennis court, caravan and boat storage, resort style pool, lap pool, spa, barbecue areas, full gated security, residents clubhouse and visiting area for grand children, while the complex is extensively landscaped.
The Bargara facility is one of six in the Lifestyle Resorts family of communities which stretch from Tweed Heads in northern NSW, through Eagleby and Coomera on the Gold Coast, all the way up to Rockhampton in central Queensland.
